amazing read...go on , have a laugh if you want to.. new dna study confirms noah.

Awesome that Cheddar Man's great-great-great-great-[...]-great grandson (or at least distant relative) lived only half a mile from his 9000 year old ancestor.
Interesting thought in the video: the DNA techniques used to trace migration patterns and human age and ancestry are exactly the same techniques that are used to determine paternity or used as evidence to convict killers and rapists.
Those who reject the techniques should be out there protesting to get all those innocent people released from jail. And then maybe offer them a stay at their homes, since they're all innocent and such...
gorby has been offline from jwd for some weeks, and it made my situation not better, have had some serious problems with the fading, much pressure, i have nothing new to say, it must be very similar to the situation of many faders here.. so, i had so much pressure, that we have had to change our holiday booking so we are able to visit the convention, due to family reasons, you all know what i mean.. please wish me (and us) much luck for this summer.
it is not my best summer season in life.. this is how i feel:.
.
Gorby,
I am determined to not attend the convention program, but with 3 spare days on my hand (wife still in) I might take my motor bike and ride to the convention anyway to see some friends and family during intermission.
If you would happen to be at the northernmost convention as well, I'd be happy to chat with you after intermission to distract you a bit from the bunker videos :-)
In any case, good luck. Bring ear plugs and a good book. Maybe whiskey and a cigar as well ;-)
i watched the bunker videos again and noticed something strange.
even though none of the characters had actually been disloyal to the org when commended for their loyalty they all say "it wasn't always that way".
it was always that way, none of them had actually sinned!
Good observation.
I just quickly skipped through the bunker videos. Here's what I noticed (in no particular order):
its funny ive read some stories on here about how they have become so infuriated by what logic dictates as being true and their own denying of it because it completely screws up their belief and shows how hypocritical it is xd some look like a nuclear reactor about to blow xd.
share you experiences here :) .
Apart from the pretty standard reaction from 'friends' and family as described above, I think this is also interesting:
Me, texting a DFed and thus estranged good friend: Hey, how are you?
She: So happy to chat! Miss all of you! We should visit soon. You're DFed right?
Me: Nope, just quit.
She: Why?
Me: TTATT
She: OK, well I'm not convinced. It's still the truth.
Me: As you wish. So when can I visit you?
She: Let me check. I'll let you know.
Crickets ever since. Jup, I'm not DF or DA, yet shunned by a DFed friend.....whatever...
according to our sources belgium bethel will be very soon closed and the building sold.... selters germany bethel will take care of this area....
RedPill,
Thanks! I have been looking for that quote for another thread.
Just have to find that thread now :-\

Great find Kaik. I love this part of it especially:
Meanwhile, Schweitzer’s research has been hijacked by “young earth” creationists, who insist that dinosaur soft tissue couldn’t possibly survive millions of years. They claim her discoveries support their belief, based on their interpretation of Genesis, that the earth is only a few thousand years old. Of course, it’s not unusual for a paleontologist to differ with creationists. But when creationists misrepresent Schweitzer’s data, she takes it personally: she describes herself as “a complete and total Christian.” On a shelf in her office is a plaque bearing an Old Testament verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
So here is a devout Christian whose own scientific research does not contradict her beliefs, and other Christians who rape that research to further their own agenda regarding Young Earth nonsense. Nice.
in response to the 37 threads in my evolution is a fact series - see bottom of op for links - perry posted a link to an article "44 reasons why evolution isn't true".. i offered him a challenge on the thread and by pm.
predictably he is totally ignoring it, so i am offering the challenge to any evolution-denier who thinks they have evidence to support their position.. please present one specific piece of evidence for creationism.. my task will be to refute it with evidence within 24 hours.. then i will present one piece of evidence for evolution and your challenge will be the same.. all posts must be as succinct as reasonably possible.
entirely in your own words, without copy-paste, videos or links.. please post your interest to take part and we will set it up before the first actual post in the exchange.
Increasing people's level of knowledge about the world is a good thing.
Presenting factual information on evolution to those who [are in]/[deciding whether to leave]/[just left] a cult where this information is hidden, distorted and proper research is forbidden, is a good thing.
In some parts of the world people believe having sex with a virgin will cure AIDS if you have that. Telling those people over and over again that their belief is contradicted by the facts and dangerous, is a good thing. Yes, they might not like it. Yes, they might present anecdotal 'evidence' to show they are right. They might argue 'well, it might work so I try just in case'. But at least presenting the correct info to them is a good thing.
It's not like we are knocking on creationists' doors here. There are some threads with information on evolution. Everyone is free to ignore them, read them, or even participate.
Anyone who feels Cofty's threads are in contradiction with their beloved creationist faith can just ignore them and carry on with their day. But anyone who thinks they should litter their creationist misinformation on those threads is fair game. If you're so damn sure about creation, start your own thread and present the information you have. Just don't misrepresent the facts please.

so after almost a year of complete inactivity and non attendance, i ran into a nice brother from the local congregation.. after some nice chit-chat, he says "we really miss you and your family...etc...you were always the kind and supportive one, the approachable and encouraging one in the congregation.
your absence has confused so many".
i thanked him and said "oh no, no individual has stumbled us.
As we all know very well
CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT
And Eve.
And all of us TTATTers out here.

@Rattigan,
Those are bold claims. Do you have any research and evidence to support them?
Anyway, have a look at this page for some contemporary examples of evolution in action: http://listverse.com/2011/11/19/8-examples-of-evolution-in-action/
Pay close attention to number 5. If a change in diet can change jaw size and biting force over some generations, why can't the same happen to the shape of teeth?
I suggest you research evolution from sources other that creationist websites. You'llama be surprised how much sense it actually makes; I know I was.
Remember, almost all of us here used to be die hard creationists. Ever wonder why some of us changed our minds?
